Dan Oliver's Ship!

In 1998 Coast Guard Commander Pat Stadt joined the Fleet with his Hobie-16.  His crew was Dan Oliver, another Coast Guard Commander.  Dan would often talk of getting a boat of his own, probably something bigger than the Hobie-16.  We tried to suggest a variety of boats to fill his desires.  Another Hobie?  Uh uh.  A NACRA?  Nope.  Prindle, Inter, Tornado, Taipan, A-Class?   Hmmmmm, no thanks.   We figured he was being fickle.  Turned out he was also asking the Coast Guard for a bigger boat!  And wouldn't you know, they gave it to him!  A brand new one too!  Check out Dan's new ship, just delivered to the Coast Guard.  Soon he'll be breaking ice like nobody's business!  Of course, it seemed like such a good idea that the rest of the Fleet has also been asking the Coast Guard for bigger boats.  They don't return our calls...

The Coast Guard thinks of everything!  Check out the pad in the back for storing and launching catamarans!
After seeing this view, the Fleet has suggested that they test the ability to crunch through ice by crunching through PWCs.  Again, no return calls...
We heard rumor that Dan has requested a sistership be built and joined with crossbars to the current ship.  He's keeping us posted...

These photographs were taken by someone.  Thanks!
